Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the last film for Chris Pratt aka Peter Quill, and his friends.
Unpleasant news comes from a statement by the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn, who said that the third installment of this film would be the last film for Peter Quill and his friends. It is mentioned that the future Guardians of the Galaxy will come with a new formation.
Guardians of the Galaxy first introduced the core team of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel). Despite having only two films, the Guardians played an important role in the MCU, joining the fight against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
Citing Screenrant.com, Gunn said GotG Vol.3 would surprise fans by calling it something “big and dark.” Gunn also said audiences should be prepared for a new line-up within the team, insisting that this third chapter will be the last time the early GotG crew members are together.
“This is the end for us. This is the last time people will see the Guardians team. I want to be honest with the characters, and I want to be honest with the story and want to give people the conclusion they deserve for the story. So it’s always a bit scary; I did my best,” Gunn quoted Screenrant as saying.
Previously, Gunn had also warned fans that the third sequel would be the last moment for the Guardian team. Gunn previously said a future fourth film would feature a new Guardians of the Galaxy squad. This upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 may be the last trip for Peter Quill and co, but it opens the door for a new team of Guardians to take their place.
